We kicked off our first outing of 2018, with a trip to the company gardens, Iziko Natural History Museum and a show at the Planetarium. Beautiful morning spent walking around the company gardens, looking at the beautiful trees, plants, fed squirrels under the watchful eyes of the majestic Table Mountain. We provided the girls with gratitude journals to write about their dreams and what they are grateful for. We split into smaller groups, and walked around the Natural History Museum learning interesting facts about animals, and then watched a 45 minutes show looking at the stars and planets and learning about our solar system. We ended the day having lunch (take away McDonalds) in the Company Gardens. It was first time there, for some the first time they had seen a real squirrel, and when they saw the stars, the one marvelled how they don’t see the stars, as they must be inside by 6pm in their neighbourhoods for safety reasons.
